Installing Chronicle
Step-by-step guide to adding Chronicle to your Discord server.
Prerequisites
- A Discord server where you have Administrator or Manage Server permission
- A voice channel where your group plays
Install Chronicle
- Visit the Chronicle install page
- Click "Add Chronicle to Discord"
- Select the server you want to add Chronicle to
- Review and authorize the requested permissions
- You'll be redirected to the post-install page with next steps
Permissions
Chronicle requests the following Discord permissions:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| View Channels | See which voice and text channels are available |
| Connect | Join voice channels to record sessions |
| Speak | Required by Discord for voice channel access (Chronicle doesn't play audio) |
| Send Messages | Post session recaps and command responses |
| Use Slash Commands | Register and respond to Chronicle slash commands |
| Embed Links | Format session summaries with rich embeds |
After Installation
Once Chronicle is in your server:
- Create a campaign —
/campaign createwith a name for your campaign - Familiarize yourself with commands — See the command reference
- Run a test session — Try a short recording to see how Chronicle works
Multiple Servers
Chronicle can be added to multiple Discord servers. Each server has its own campaigns and data — nothing is shared between servers.
Removing Chronicle
To remove Chronicle from your server:
- Go to Server Settings → Integrations
- Find Chronicle and click Remove
